I know for me that unless I have my morning time seeking time in the presence of my Creator, my God, my refuge, my stronghold — the day isn’t complete. I need to make prayer my priority — talking to God about the smallest things to the biggest. Just resting in the palm of His hand. For someone like me…a professional business woman with a definite type-A personality, I am often challenged with “do you really do that?” — “do you really give up control?” Yes, I do my best daily to do just that. I know I do fail, but since I truly seek the Holy Spirit’s presence in my daily life, I will often feel the nudge…hey there…you are tring to take control back — and I let go again. What a blessing to be able to truly have a relationship with the Creator of the Universive and know that He loves me!
Is Prayer a Priority?
May 4, 2008All I can say is WOW!
April 27, 2008I am constantly in awe of the glory of the Lord around me — the beauty of His creation. I have a very special place to spend time with my Creator, my Lord. And from where I sit, I am guided to the backyard which is filled with the beauty of the flowers, the singing of birds, as well as the quick fly by of the hummingbirds. When you “stop and smell the roses” or take the time to look carefully at an orchid, or the fun of making a snapdragon “snap”, I can’t see how anyone could doubt the existance of our Creator God.
I find that when I take that time — the time to truly seek His presence through the beauty around me, I have a peace that comes into my heart more deeply. I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, and I ask him humbly to fill me up that day. Help me to be more the woman He created me to be this day. And I am strengthened for the day’s challenges walking with Him… All I can say is WOW!
Thought for the Day
April 26, 2008It is better to pray badly than to not pray at all
I am a Christian Coach
April 26, 2008I remember that day like it was yesterday — the day I became a Christian in summer of 1976 — over 30 years ago. That day I realized that I was a child of God. The day that I realized that Jesus died for me. Since that time, although with many stumbles, I have continued to grow and seek a deeper walk in my faith through the Bible, through God’s word.
I became hungry for the word of God. And I began to study more and more about what it meant to be a child of God. Seeking what He was saying. Making time for a conversation with Him each day through reading His word, talking with Him through prayer and seeking a deeper relationship with the Creator of the Universe.
As I sought a deeper walk, I began to study my faith. I listened to teaching I found through the Bible and actively sought a stronger foundation in my relationship with my Lord and Savior. As time passed, I was often called to pray for others and my faith continued to grow. Ultimately, I found that many people were brought into my life because they needed prayer or were seeking a deeper relationship with the Lord but they didn’t know how to connect with Him. They didn’t know how to have a conversation with God.
Since I am coach in the area of small business, time management, real estate and entrepreneurship, I recently began to realize that what the Lord was telling me was that what I had learned in my business life was now to be used for Him. The skills He had given me as a coach in the secular world were to be brought into Christian world. That He wanted me to reach beyond my secular business and that I was to begin coaching others in their relationship with Christ.
With my new blog, I will post new commentary weekly, and will have a daily scripture reference or thought for the day. If you would like more information about me or my business, or prayer, please let me know and I will direct you to my websites.
Blessings.
